Shirley Alston Reeves is an American singer best known for being the lead singer of the girl group, The Shirelles. The Shirelles were one of the most popular girl groups of the 1960s, known for hits like "Will You Love Me Tomorrow" and "Soldier Boy."
Reeves was born on June 10, 1941 in Henderson, North Carolina. She joined The Shirelles in 1958 at the age of 16, and quickly became the group's lead singer. Her powerful, soulful voice and charismatic stage presence helped to define the group's sound and style.
After The Shirelles disbanded in the early 1970s, Reeves continued to perform as a solo artist and also reunited with former members of the group for special performances. She has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of The Shirelles.
